How To Avoid Being Pathetic on Facebook

This image screams “I have girl trouble”

I have a friend who posts to FB and it is very sad. I love the guy. But he comes off as incredibly pathetic, even to this guy who’s cheering for him.

A lot of his posts are desperate. Displays of very low value. (Some girls will respond to this in a motherly way, and he may get a “medicine fuck” from the nurse, but it’s not going to be rewarding over the long haul because women can’t be attracted to this kind of behavior in a man).

A photo that says: “I like animals more than humans” -> this screams “I give up. I’m sick of all this.”

Angry things like: “I hate being second to those I put first.”

Regretful romanticism like “Sometimes we are only given a few minutes to be with the one we love, and thousands of hours to spend thinking of them.”

All of this is to say: if you’re going to use Facebook, don’t do the following:

whine
lament
complain
sulk
self-loathe
express anger (doesn’t accomplish anything)
beg for love
post incessantly (a sign that you have nothing better to do)

If you’re going to use it, use Facebook as a metric of how well you are living a PhaseFrame oriented life. Live powerfully. Show passion. Be confident. Use restraint.
